The Desert Has a Lot of Dirt In It

I know why Mary Magdeline washed Jesus’ feet with her tears. She’d just mopped the floor and in comes Jesus tracking half of the Negev in with him… like Pig Pen from the Peanuts comic strip. Who wouldn’t cry? It’s amazingly hard to keep the floors clean here. I’d show you a picture of the bottom of my feet to demonstrate, but you’d just be grossed out.

I admit it. I’m a lazy housekeeper. I only clean when someone who isn’t living with me will see my house. In fact, in my other life as an Oregonian, I pay someone to come in and clean for me every other week.  I’m going to have to learn some serious domestic discipline while I’m here.

Don’t even talk to me about laundry. The washer and dryer are tiny and have to share an outlet, so they can’t run at the same time. It takes 3 hours to wash and dry one load. 😦

But I can’t get into that because I’m off to sweep now… again.
